Kate and Vaughan’s Marahau, Abel Tasman Wedding was a stunner! The couple have been living in Dubai for the past few years and while they love life there – they really appreciate being able to come back to this remote spot in New Zealand where Kate’s parent’s live to recharge and refresh. So for them it was the perfect place to have their destination wedding.

The day started with eggs fried on the barbeque, whiskey and a few passes of the rugby ball for the boys. And some laid back pampering and a horse and cart ride down the road for the girls. The day ended with the most intense pink sunset, reflected in the tidal pools of the Marahau estuary, and dancing under the stars to an acoustic guitar.

I love how Kate contrasted the casual beach setting with a striking cut out couture gown and strappy gold heels. Vaughan did not let the team down with a cream coloured suit – so cool to see a groom wear something a bit different! Even more special his suit was designed and made by his friend back in Dubai, Franklin Eugene. I also love all the gorgeous details hand made by Vaughan, my favourite is the sweetest note he left for Kate on the sole of her shoe, and the driftwood teepee he built with his boys the day before the wedding. Feast your eyes on this classic kiwi beach wedding with a twist below.
